Miami DT Michael Wyche arrested for battery, suspended indefinitely

Miami defensive tackle Michael Wyche was arrested on charges of misdemeanor domestic battery Wednesday morning.

He has been indefinitely suspended from the team.

Wyche was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center around 5 a.m. Wednesday morning and, according to the Palm Beach Post, was still there in the afternoon waiting on a $1,500 bail. The paper also noted that Wednesday was Wyche’s 23rd birthday.

The university said in a statement that it was aware of Wyche’s arrest and other than a suspension, the school would have no further comment.

Wyche, a redshirt senior, is a junior college transfer that came to the Hurricanes in 2014. In 10 games as a reserve that season, he recorded nine tackles and 0.5 sacks. He played in the first four games of this season, but did not record a stat.
