The past five years at Maryland have been truly the best time of my life,” Jefferson said in a statement. “I am very thankful for all the opportunities the University of Maryland has given me, and look forward to graduating this weekend.”

He also had an interception and a fumble recovery in 2015 and blocked a field goal against West Virginia.

Jefferson was a redshirt junior in 2015. He was a medical redshirt in 2014 after he suffered a season-ending knee injury after playing in the first three games of the season. He had 20 tackles combined in 2012 and 2013 as a freshman and sophomore.

A three-star prospect, he was the No. 25 recruit in the state of Pennsylvania in the class of 2010, according to Rivals.
