LSU WR John Diarse will transfer

John Diarse is moving on from LSU.

The program confirmed that Diarse, a redshirt sophomore wide receiver, will transfer from the Tigers program. Diarse previously announced the news in an Instagram post.

“For every new year there comes bigger dreams to chase and even bigger challenges to overcome. The last 3 years of my life have flown by but I am very thankful for all that I accomplished and learned during my time at LSU,” Diarse wrote. “No matter what happens from this point forward I will always be part of the Tiger Family and be able to say I played for the LSU Tigers.”

Diarse graduated in December, so he will be able to play immediately at his next school with two years of eligibility remaining.

Diarse played in all 12 games this year for the Tigers, including five starts. He finished the season with 13 catches for 137 yards and had his best game – four catches for 45 yards – in LSU’s 56-27 win over Texas Tech in the Texas Bowl on Tuesday.

Diarse also registered 15 receptions for 275 yards and three touchdowns as a redshirt freshman in 2014.

According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, TCU is a potential transfer destination for Diarse.

A native of Monroe, La., Diarse was a four-star recruit in LSU’s 2013 recruiting class.
