Louisville QB Reggie Bonnafon can jump higher than most humans

Louisville quarterback Reggie Bonnafon has mad hops.

Like crazy mad hops.

During the Cardinals’ offseason physical testing, Bonnafon showed off his vertical jumping ability much to the delight of teammates.

From a stand-still, Bonnafon jumped 43.5 inches, which would have been the best mark at this year’s NFL combine by two full inches (Florida State DB Jalen Ramsey and Cal running back Daniel Lasco both jumped 41.5 inches). According to the Louisville Courier-Journal, the next closest Louisville jump was receiver Jamari Staples, who jumped 40 inches.

Now, coach Bobby Petrino has to find a way to get Bonnafon’s athleticism on the field. Bonnafon was beaten out for the starting quarterback job by Lamar Jackson and has played running back and receiver during his time with the Cardinals. It wouldn’t be inconceivable to see Bonnafon in a hybrid role similar to the one Braxton Miller played for Ohio State last season. After all, there’s no better weapon for a team trying to increase its offensive production than a guy who can probably jump over most defenders in the ACC.
