Kentucky signee Jordan Bonner stabbed six times, recovering

Kentucky signee Jordan Bonner was stabbed six times while visiting his infant son in suburban Cleveland.

Bonner told Fox 8 in Cleveland he was stabbed in the chest, abdomen and back, but was released from the hospital after four days.

“They said had he not been an athlete in good shape this would have been far worse,” Bonner’s mother, Pastor Karen Barhams, said from her Cleveland home when Bonner continues to recover.

Euclid Police arrested and charged Aristotle Lewis with felonious assault. He pleaded not guilty and was released on bond. No reason was cited for the attack.

Bonner, a defensive end, has to finish his classwork at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M before he can enroll at Kentucky. However, Bonner must stay in Cleveland until he’s cleared by doctors to leave.

“This sets me back a little because I need to finish my classes and I can’t go back until I get the staples out next week,” Bonner said.

“We also need help getting him back to school,” Barhams said. “He has worked so hard and I won’t let this set him back.”
