Georgia RB: Transfer restrictions a 'misunderstanding'
Georgia running back A.J. Turman has more transfer options now.
He told the Orlando Sentinel that he can now transfer to any school outside of the SEC, Miami and Georgia Tech. The former 4-star recruit was originally restricted to transferring to Florida schools outside of Miami and Florida.
He called the original transfer restrictions a "misunderstanding." The limits to his transfer under new Georgia coach Kirby Smart drew national attention. Former Georgia coach Mark Richt, now the coach at Miami, was lenient about transfer destinations in his time at Georgia.

"I feel good. I have more options and I'm excited," Turman said. "I feel kind of bad that this has blown up so much for Georgia."
Although the fingers are pointed directly at Smart.
"I talked to Coach Kirby last week. I guess the permission to contact letter, he didn't mean to say just the state of Florida," Turman said. "I guess there was a misunderstanding. He didn't mean for them to write it like that, I guess. We got that fixed.
Turman is an Orlando native and must sit out the 2016 season. He told the Sentinel that if he finds a school he really likes, he's not opposed to spending that year without a scholarship if the team doesn't have one available.
"I've talked to my parents and if I really liked a school and it was a place where I felt like I could really succeed, then I'd be willing to pay for a year," Turman said. "That wouldn't be a problem at all."
