Florida State offensive line coach Rick Trickett will not coach against Notre Dame on Saturday night because of health reasons.

"Florida State assistant head coach/offensive line coach Rick Trickett will not be at the game tonight because of a personal health issue, Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher announced on Saturday," Florida State said in a statement. "Trickett has coached Florida State’s offensive line since 2007."

"Per NCAA rules, David Spurlock will assume the offensive line coaching duties."

Warchant.com said Trickett "was checked out for a heart issue" Friday night and his long-term health is not in jeopardy. Spurlock is a graduate assistant for Florida State. He played on the Seminoles offensive line and was a senior in 2011.

Trickett is the father of West Virginia QB Clint Trickett. Clint Trickett led the Mountaineers to an upset of No. 4 Baylor on Saturday. Clint Trickett transferred from Florida State following the 2012 season. Before coaching at Florida State, Rick Trickett coached at Auburn, LSU and West Virginia.

No. 2 Florida State hosts No. 5 Notre Dame at 8 p.m. ET.
