Coaches wearing patches to support Muscular Dystrophy research

College football coaches around the nation are wearing "Coach to Cure MD" patches in games this weekend for the sixth straight season.

Texas Christian coach Gary Patterson was coaching his team so hard against SMU, his patch flew off (above photo).

The patches are meant to raise awareness about Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and help raise funds for researching a disease that is the most common fatal disorder among boys worldwide.

The partnership between Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy and the American Football Coaches Association has raised more than $1 million. Fans can donate $5 by texting the word CURE to 90999.
