Auburn trolls Alabama with 'kick six' themed error page

It wouldn’t be football season without rivalry banter heating up and Auburn is leading the way with its “404 page” troll of rival Alabama.

For those who aren’t familiar with a 404 page, it’s the page that pops up when you type in an invalid page on a valid website. So for example, if you were to type “www.auburntigers.com/ihatealabama” you would get this:

Auburn's 404 page
Auburn's 404 page

The page, which has the header “Hold On One Second,” gioves the user the following message: “We’re sorry but the page you’re looking for doesn’t appear to exist. Don’t worry, we’ll put one second back on the clock and you can continue with the links below. War Eagle!”

Of course, this refers to the memorable “Kick-Six” play during the 2013 Iron Bowl when Chris Davis returned a missed field goal 109 yards for a game-winning touchdown that vaulted Auburn to the SEC title game and ultimately the national championship.

It was one of the most memorable plays in college football history and one Auburn isn’t going to let Alabama forget any time soon.

Well played, Auburn. Well played.
