Arkansas RB Knile Davis injures a linebacker in practice, appears to be ready for the season

If there was any question whether Arkansas running back Knile Davis might be 100 percent this season, ask linebacker Tenarius "Tank" Wright what he thinks.

Well, if he can remember what happened.

During what was supposed to be a noncontact drill on Monday, Wright stepped into the path of the speeding locomotive that was Davis and didn't get up.

Wright laid on the ground after the collision while medical personnel checked on him and ultimately called for the cart to come take him off the field.

Coach John L. Smith said he suffered a possible concussion and would be re-evaluated after practice.

Davis, who has been itching for contact ever since injuring his ankle, and subsequently missing the entire 2011 season, last fall camp, said he didn't think the collision was more violent than any other in which he'd been involved.

"I didn't even know he was hurt until after practice," Davis said. "I saw he wasn't in there. We'll see. I don't know what happened to him."

Of course, that's coming from a guy who squats 600 pounds.

With Wright presumably out, the Razorbacks are now down two linebackers in fall camp. Alonzo Highsmith was injured last Saturday with what Smith called a tweaked hamstring.
