One of Arizona State’s highest-ranked signees has been suspended indefinitely after being arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.

Davon Durant, a four-star inside linebacker from Butler County Community College in Kansas, was arrested March 7 when witnesses claimed they saw a man striking a woman while the two were sitting in a black SUV.

According to the police report, which was obtained by azcentral.com, Durant's girlfriend told police that Durant hit her in the face once and grabbed her around the neck. Durant told police he got into a verbal altercation with his girlfriend.

The responding officer did notice injuries to the alleged victim, including a bruise below her left eye and bruising around her neck, which appeared to be finger marks.

Durant is due in court for a preliminary hearing on March 18 for charges of disorderly conduct and aggravated assault.

Durant, who enrolled early to participate in spring drills, is no longer listed on the spring roster.
