The Cavs got stopped at customs on the way to Canada before Game 3

After the Cleveland Cavaliers flat-out pummeled the Toronto Raptors again on Thursday to take a 2-0 lead in the 2016 Eastern Conference finals, Scott Cacciola of the New York Times offered a tongue-in-cheek assessment of the Raptors' defensive efforts thus far against LeBron James: "Toronto’s best chance at this point might be having Customs stop him at the border."

So, you know that old saying about there being a grain of truth inside every joke?

"Waiting for customs to let them in like..." wrote Cavaliers center Tristan Thompson in this Friday afternoon Instagram post.

The Cavaliers, it seems, really were held up at customs as they attempted to travel to Toronto ahead of Saturday's Game 3 at Air Canada Centre.

Cleveland reserve Richard Jefferson, as he has all postseason long, brought us the hot scoop via Snapchat:

You've got to feel for the Toronto-born Thompson, who arrived in the province of his birth only to find himself rejected. So much for all that soaring, orchestral stuff about homes and native lands.

The Cavs didn't stay on the tarmac forever, though ... although where they went next might not have been much of an improvement:

While the Cavs found themselves battling boredom and bureaucracy at the border, one Canadian public official/opportunistic social media celebrity seemed pretty entertained:

Evidently, about as well as LeBron and Kyrie Irving have treated the Raptors' defense for the last 96 minutes of game time.
