Joel Embiid laments unsuccessful recruitment of LeBron James, zings Drake, remains good at Twitter

Joel Embiid's determined recruitment of prized free agent LeBron James, it seems, came up just a bit short.

While the allure of returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers rendered Embiid's attempts to lure the King to the Philadelphia 76ers unsuccessful, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft still landed one of Friday's premier social media wins, taking a swipe at one of sports' most notoriously fickle fans:

Zing!

The answer, of course, is that Drake's not going anywhere. He's too busy serving as the global ambassador of the Toronto Raptors to do anything else, obviously.

Apparently, the Cameroonian big man has heard the whispers about the Cavaliers having their sights set on making a big-game-hunting move to land All-Star power forward Kevin Love of the Minnesota Timberwolves, and that any such deal may well have to include his former Kansas Jayhawks teammate, Andrew Wiggins, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft. This, it seems, displeases Joel:

Composing your tweet in the style of a letter feels pretty appropriate today, Mr. Embiid. Well played.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, let's all pay extraordinarily close attention to Joel Embiid's Twitter feed for the remainder of Friday, and also over the weekend, and probably for as long as he deigns to send 140-character missives.
