Chris Bosh will appear on the Disney Channel show ‘JESSIE’ (VIDEOS)

In the months immediately after he signed with the Miami Heat in 2010, Chris Bosh embraced his newfound media attention with open arms. He appeared on TV shows and did interviews in all possible venues, including an incredibly misguided and still inexplicable photoshoot with the men's magazine Maxim.

Since that time, though, Bosh has taken a more reserved approach to his public image. He's not seeking out every opportunity available, instead opting for mostly sports-oriented outlets and the occasional outreach to the mainstream.

So it's a little notable that Bosh is set to appear on the Disney Channel series "JESSIE," a series (titled in all caps for some reason) about a young nanny to four rich New York City children, this Friday. You can check out a clip above, in which Bosh is introduced, along with two more after the jump (via SLAM).

In the second clip, Bosh talks to several young children in a park:

In the last of the bunch, Bosh enters a house full of children with no adults present and explains why his socks smell:

I don't want to be too critical of a show aimed at children, even if it includes the suggestion that an actress nine years Bosh's junior was a cheerleader when he was in high school. For NBA fans, the more important takeaways here are that (1) it's still acceptable for shows to make jokes about the Knicks and (2) Bosh is pretty good in the light comedic atmosphere of a Disney Channel sitcom.

For all the jokes we've made about him over the years, Bosh can be quite likable as a public figure. His problem has always been overexposure, not a lack of charisma.
