Anthony Davis taught James Corden how to do the Whip and Nae-Nae, sort of

New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis revealed last month that he'd turned down an offer to appear on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" because, simply put, "I didn't want to embarrass myself." Evidently, though, the New Orleans Pelicans superstar's opposition to televised shakin' doesn't extend to showing James Corden how to do the Whip on CBS' "The Late Late Show."

Asked about his decision not to bro down with Tom Bergeron, Davis explained to Corden and fellow guest Patrick Stewart — no stranger to cutting a rug himself — that he feels his particular brand of artistic expression is more about exuberance than execution.

"Well, around my family, I dance all the time," said Davis, who received rousing congratulations from Corden and Stewart for recently signing a five-year contract that could be worth as much as $144 million. "I don't know how to dance, but I think I can dance. So, doing that on a stage like that, I think I'd embarrass myself."

That didn't prevent him from accepting an invitation to teach Corden how to Whip and, to a lesser extent, how to Nae-Nae:

I, for one, feel cheated by the lack of Stanky Leg instruction. Don't send James out there without knowing the whole deal, Anthony. That's just cold.

Perhaps our unibrowed hero should focus solely on the Whip. He certainly does that with some level of conviction:

Or perhaps Davis should devote a small portion of his soon-to-be-arriving maximum salary to invest in a partner who can make sure he's a hit every time he hits the dance floor. Like, for example:

Just something to keep in mind the next time someone asks you to get your two-step on, A.D. Food for thought.
