Thief breaks into Safeco Field store, makes off with 16 Ichiro jerseys (Video)

King Felix may be in sole possession of Seattle's crown these days, but Ichiro still appears to be a man in demand in the Pacific Northwest. Faced with his pick from a Safeco Field store full of current Seattle Mariners memorabilia, the unidentified thief in the video above opted to grab 16 discounted Ichiro jerseys before making a clean getaway on Wednesday morning.

From the Seattle Times:

"They were very specific," said store supervisor Chris French. "We are thinking they had scoped it out before."

The 16 Ichiro jerseys stolen normally retail for $240 apiece. But French said the price recently was slashed in half.

As quick and efficient as an Ichiro slap single, the jersey jacker remains at large. Perhaps he and the shirts are headed to Japan after fans there staged a run on Ichiro Mariners jerseys after last month's trade to the Yankees?
