Rockies' Nolan Arenado keeps on crushing baseballs

There's no stopping Colorado Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado these days.

Arenado smashed two more home runs Sunday, giving him 24 on the season. That puts him in a tie for third in the majors with the potentially super-human Bryce Harper. According to our friends at Roto Arcade, Arenado has been the best fantasy player in the game over the last month and they say it hasn't been particularly close. He was also named NL player of the week Monday.

Of course, there's always a healthy dose of skepticism when a Rockies player is putting up monster power numbers, but before labelling Arenado yet another product of the high-altitude environment at Coors Field in Denver, take a quick look at his splits.

Arenado has actually been better on the road than at home this season, hitting 15 of his 24 home runs away from Coors with an OPS over .100 points higher. His recent tear at the plate has little to do with Colorado and everything to do with how he's seeing the ball in the batter's box.

On top of this offensive explosion, his awesome skills at third base have already made him a two-time Gold Glove award winner. Expect to see Arenado receive his first All-Star game invite in the very near future.

The Rockies haven't made the playoffs since 2009 and with a 33-42 record in 2015, it doesn't appear that streak is going to end this year. With the 24-year-old Arenado blossoming into a two-way star, they're hoping better days aren't too far down the road.
