Josh Hamilton doubles in first at-bat back at Globe Life Park

It's been quite the road back for Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton. After beginning the year with the Los Angeles Angels, Hamilton was reacquired by the club in April.

Though he missed nearly the first two months of the season, Hamilton was able to return Monday against the Cleveland Indians. His second debut with the Rangers came on the road, however. Hamilton's return to Globe Life Park as a Ranger would have to wait until Thursday.

As Hamilton ran out to left field, the fans gave him a nice ovation.

That excitement extended to Hamilton's first at-bat, which ended with a nice result.

All in all, it was a pretty nice moment for both Hamilton and the fans. Hamilton said some regretful things about Texas on his way out a few years back, but it appears all has been forgiven now.

While Hamilton's numbers have declined precipitously since he left, there doesn't seem to be high expectations for the 34-year-old outfielder in his second stint with the club. That's probably for the best right now.

Hamilton may no longer be producing at an elite level, but the fans are still willing to embrace him. That much be a welcome change after his rocky situation with the Angels.
