Josh Donaldson set for cameo on 'Vikings' TV show

Remember when Josh Donaldson revealed his new braided hairdo a few weeks back? Turns out there was more to it than a sudden change in style. He wasn't simply emulating Ragnar from History's hit show "Vikings" but actually getting ready to play a role alongside him.

Donaldson announced he's making a cameo on the show and he sounds pretty excited about it. Points for commitment, too. All the method actors out there must be proud.

The episode will be shot next week in Ireland where Donaldson will play Hoskuld, a Viking warrior, and is set to air later this year as part of the show's fourth season, which begins Feb. 18.

By then Donaldson will be just about ready to report to spring training for his second season with the Toronto Blue Jays. If he won the AL MVP last year without drawing on Viking experience, opposing pitchers should really beware in 2016.
