Josh Donaldson caps fantastic game with walk-off home run

Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson seems to be enjoying his time with his new team. The 29-year-old turned in arguably his finest game with the club Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox.

[Woah, The Stew has a podcast now?! Yep, you should listen.]

Donaldson did not make an out during the contest. He kicked things off with a bang. In the first inning, Donaldson knocked a solo blast against starter John Danks.

He struck again in the third, notching a double to left. After walking in the fifth, Donaldson would add a single in the seventh inning.

The club needed Donaldson's strong game, as they went back and forth with the White Sox all night. With the team trailing by two in the bottom of the ninth, Donaldson got a chance to add to his ridiculously strong stat line.

With two men on, Donaldson stepped to the plate against David Robertson. On the third pitch of the at-bat, Donaldson clobbered a 94 mph fastball out to right field for the walk-off blast, giving Toronto the 10-9 victory. Donaldson finished the contest 4 for 4, with five runs scored and four RBI.

With the performance, Donaldson increased his slash line to .315/.379/.582 over 207 plate appearances. His current .411 wOBA, an advanced stat that measures offensive performance, would be a career high.

Much was made of the trade that sent Donaldson to Toronto at the time it went down. If his start is any indication, we may have to start talking about it as one of the biggest steals of the offseason.
