Jose Bautista smashes Coca-Cola sign at Fenway Park with long foul ball

It's well known that Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista has one of the most powerful swings in baseball. His 192 home runs since 2010 are the most in the majors by an individual player, though it wasn't with a dinger that he showed off his tremendous strength on Tuesday.

In the fifth inning against Red Sox right-hander Edward Mujica, Bautista skied a long foul ball down the left field line and the ball smashed into the Coca-Cola sign that stands high above Fenway Park. The Red Sox escaped without suffering any further damage on the scoreboard, but Bautista did manage to leave his mark on their beloved stadium.

A closer look revealed that Bautista channeled his inner Roy Hobbs and shattered a few of the sign's light bulbs. Sure, it wasn't a pennant winning homer like Hobbs' shot at the end of The Natural (spoiler alert!), heck Bautista didn't get any runs out of it, but it was still pretty cool.

Bautista was just getting warmed up anyway. Later in the game his power swing rewarded him in a more traditional way, as he launched a solo home run in a 11-8 Blue Jays win over Boston.
