Dodgers celebrate NL West title in the Chase Field pool, get called ‘classless’ by Diamondbacks player
The Arizona Diamondbacks asked the Los Angeles Dodgers not to celebrate winning the NL West on their field. So the Dodgers, after beating the D-backs 7-6 on Thursday for their first division title since 2009, went somewhere else to celebrate. The pool at Chase Field.
A pack of Dodgers — Matt Kemp, Hanley Ramirez, Yasiel Puig, Juan Uribe, Skip Schumaker, Adrian Gonzalez, Kenley Jansen and Michael Young, among them — dashed out to the pool after the win, splashing around like Little Leaguers after a pizza party.
These two teams, of course, have history. You can be sure that brawl from June hasn't been forgotten by either club. And this little jaunt to the pool? How will it go over? Kirk Gibson didn't come out with a pool noodle and a water gun to join the fun, if that's what you're wondering.
In fact, it sounds like D-backs players, fans and even the local media weren't too happy about how the Dodgers decided to celebrate.
#DBacks not happy with Dodgers celebrating in Chase Field pool, Willie Bloomquist called it "classless and disrespectful."

Bloomquist on #Dodgers pool celebration: "They have a lot of veteran players on their team. I thought they had more class than that." — Tyler Emerick (@TylerEmerick) September 19, 2013
Bloomquist: "I would expect them to act with a little more class than they did. I doubt the New York Yankees would do something like that."

@Dodgers YOU GUYS ARE BEING VERY RUDE && DISRESPECTFUL WITH THE POOL CELEBRATION!! — Sergio Ortiz (@PhxBoii1995) September 19, 2013
An outrage! Dodgers clinch at Chase field and jump in OUR pool!! http://t.co/cVY0dxMjBv

it's one thing to celebrate on the field, but jumping into OUR pool is just classless. way to go Dodgers. — Courtney Baker (@CBake93) September 19, 2013
D-backs pitcher Brandon McCarthy, however, put this spin on the Dodgers celebration.
Celebrating is fun. I don't care how and where you do it. Only thing to care about is what we need to do to celebrate in our pool next year.

The swimming Dodgers, meanwhile, didn't look like they were caring at all about what people would think. Is that Yasiel Puig below about to fall face-first into the water? He doesn't seem too worried about hurting himself, let alone hurting anybody in Phoenix's feelings.
