David Ortiz stuns Blue Jays with first stolen base since 2013

With David Ortiz set to retire at season's end, his season will be defined by many of his final moments on a baseball field.

From his final hit, to his final home run, to his final game at Fenway Park, we'll be keeping tabs on everything he does as he writes the final footnotes to his Hall of Fame worthy career.

With that in mind, Boston's big man gave us one potential final moment that we weren't expecting during Friday's 5-3 win against the Blue Jays.

With Boston leading by the same score in the seventh inning, Ortiz put his wheels in motion and stunned the Blue Jays by stealing second base. It was Ortiz's first stolen base since 2013, and only the 16th time overall during his 20-year career.

The Blue Jays were so surprised, in fact, that Ortiz stole it uncontested. They were completely unprepared for the possiblity, and Ortiz took full advantage.

If nothing else, this could go down as the most surprising moment of Ortiz's final season. That is, unless he has another steal or two up his sleeve for the stretch run. Perhaps he'll even take aim at his career high of four steals in a season, which was set during that same 2013 season.

Or maybe he'll just be content joining this rather small but legendary list.

Whatever he decides, no one will be able to take this steal away from him. For now, we'll add it to his footnotes, but we'll keep an eraser handy just in case.
