Here is every MLB team's logo changes through the years in one GIF

Baseball is steeped in history and tradition, making it no surprise that the game is constantly referred to as America's Pastime. The origins of the game in North America can be traced back to the late 1700s, though the game really took off the following century.

By 1876, the National League was founded. The rest, as they say, is history.

Over such a long period of time, change is bound to take place. New franchises were created as the the rest of the country was colonized and population expanded. Some franchises folded, while others moved to different places and assumed new names.

With that growth comes change. We're not talking about rule changes here, we're talking about logos. Thanks to Yahoo Sports' Eric Orvieto, we can see just how much each team's logo has changed over the years in one GIF. It's pretty incredible.

With that said, here are some fun facts about the above GIF: The above logos are only from current franchises. There are teams that existed prior to 1876, but they were disbanded at certain points.

The New York Yankees have the longest-running current logo. The club adopted their current logo in 1968, and haven't looked back since.The average logo change per team is just over 11.

The Braves lead the way, changing their logo an astounding 30(!) times. The Rockies have the lowest total, with just one logo since 1993.
