Canada, paced by the likes of Connor McDavid, Nic Petan, Max Domi and Sam Reinhart, has outscored opponentsv 34-5 while winning six consecutive games to reach the final. Ever-wily Russia, whose coach Valeri Bragin has nurtured a team with stout defence and goaltending and an opportunistic offence that includes high NHL draft picks such as Ivan Barbashev and Nikolay Goldobin, had the tougher road through the medal round against the United States and Sweden.

Zach Fucale will start in goal.
