NCAA team’s Zamboni breaks down, gets trolling on Twitter for its trouble

Harvard can have its basketball and its academics, but it will never be first at Zamboni maintenance.

The world-renowned Cambridge, Mass., university has an alumni list that bursts at the seems with world leaders and people who have changed the world — sorry for not knowing a big word to use there, but we don't have to take the SAT in Canada — but its depth chart is a little thin at Zamboni. It only has one. Before the NCAA Division I game between the Crimson and the Dartmouth Big Green on Friday, the Zamboni quit and dumped snow on the ice.

After a nearly hour-long delay — you know that a CIS school with a top-notch engineering program such as Queen's or Waterloo would have never let this happen — there was no recourse save for Harvard players to push the useless machine off the ice. So Nashville Predators prospect Jimmy Vesey, along with Victor Newell, a grad of the USHL's Waterloo Black Hawks, and Kevin Guiltinan, who played for the Vernon Vipers in the Canadian Junior A ranks, got some extra aerobic work.

Meantime, the author of the Big Green's twitter was trolling all the while.
