JC Lipon was the OT hero for the Kamloops Blazers in Game Three. They now find themselves on the right side of a 3-0 series in the second round which is nice for a change. (Kamloops Daily News)

Meanwhile, their opponents the Kelowna Rockets face a 3-0 deficit for the second time this postseason. (Castanet)

In Red Deer it was Cody Sylvester for the Hitmen who scored the OT winner to give Calgary a 2-1 series advantage, one of just four series' nationwide that isn't currently at 3-0 or 4-0. (Calgary Herald)

"The fourth one's the hardest to win" says Ty Rattie. It took Portland all four tries to put away the 2012 Blazers, and the 2013 Winterhawks find themselves in a similar position against Spokane in an "unexpectedly quick series". (The Oregonian)

So like the Victoriaville Tigres of the QMJHL, the Medicine Hat Tigers also find themselves down 3-0 after a 9-2 shellacking at the hands of the Oil Kings in Game Three. (Edmonton Journal)

The Oil Kings got a nice boost last night as overage defenceman T.J. Foster returned to play his first game of the postseason. (Edmonton Journal)

OHL

Some nuggets from John Matisz last night: Tommy Hughes will miss tonight's Game 4 with a suspension, the Knights will bring Tyler Ferry back on defence to take his place and Anthony Stolarz remains the guy in goal. Seth Griffith also inks an entry-level deal with the Boston Bruins. (MetroNews)

Just a personal complaint of mine that "adversity" seems to be the go-to phrase for a hockey team down a couple of games in a series. Kitchener, who have been tinkering with the lines, look to square their series with London tonight (Waterloo Record)

Oshawa Generals coach D.J. Smith is taking the Generals defeat pretty heavily. "I’ve got to take the blame. That team’s too good to get swept," he said. (durhamregion.ca)

QMJHL

Rouyn-Noranda took a 2-1 series lead against Québec last night, and among other issues for the Remparts, they're having to deal with an anemic powerplay. In two losses for the Remparts this series, they're 0-for-6 with the man advantage and have given up a shorthanded goal. (Le Soleil)

Some credit given out to Émile Poirier who scored both Gatineau goals last night in the Olympiques 4-2 defeat against Halifax. He was a couple of inches away from the hat-trick. Those two Poirier goals are the only ones scored in Gatineau's series against Halifax, who have been frustrated by CHL goaltender of the week Zachary Fucale. (La Presse)

"They worked hard and I think they earned it" says Mooseheads defenceman Trey Lewis. You know your team is in a good spot when "it" refers to a single goal from your opponent and not a win. (Chronicle Herald)

Meanwhile, Blainville-Boisbriand's Étienne Marcoux gets his first shutout of the playoffs as the Armada take a commanding 3-0 lead over Val-d'Or. (La Presse)

Sport-Québec has nominated the Shawinigan Cataractes for "Team of the Year" after winning the Memorial Cup in June. Will fans be allowed to bring air horns to the gala? (Le Nouvelliste)
