No. 1 star: Michael Bunting, Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds (OHL)

The Arizona Coyotes signing reached the 30-goal milestone in style, with a hat trick during the Greyhounds 7-3 win against the North Bay Battalion. The 19-year-old Bunting (3G-1A, +3) scored twice during what 'Hounds coach Sheldon Keefe called "the best first period we've played all season." North Bay parried the early thrust and crawled back to within two goals entering the third period. Bunting, though, was quick to extinguish any potential of a complete collapse. In the first minute of the period, he redirected a feed from Sergey Tolchinsky (1G-2A, +3) to putg the 'Hounds back in control.

No. 2 star: Brayden Point, Moose Jaw Warriors (WHL)

Point (3G, +2) put the Warriors on his back, scoring three times in the first two periods to lead Moose Jaw to a 4-3 road win against the Kamloops Blazers. The Tampa Bay Lightning second-rounder cashed in on an early power play with an assist from rookie defenceman Dustin Perillat (2A, +2) and struck again just shy of the 13-minute mark.

Kamloops scored goals 22 seconds apart in the second to trim the Warriors' lead to 3-2, but Point promptly replied to restore a two-goal spread, That stood up as the winner.

No. 3 star: Mathew Barzal, Seattle Thunderbirds (WHL)

The projected NHL first-rounder had his second four-assist game since returning from broken kneecap in mid-January, assisting on every T-Birds goal during a 4-3 overtime win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Barzal (4A) constantly found creases in the Hurricanes' coverage while setting up three power-play goals in regulation, including Cory Milette's third-period tying goal that came just 24 seconds after 'Canes captain Jamal Watson (1G-2A, +2) had scored a go-ahead short-handed goal. That playmaking gave Seattle a chance to go to OT, where Jerret Smith scored the winner.

Barzal has 18 points in his past 10 games as he tries to make his case to be a top-10 NHL draft pick in June.

Honourable mention: Leon Draisaitl, Kelowna Rockets (WHL)

Two assists and a last-minute game-winner; it's all in a night's work for the Edmonton Oilers first-round pick. Draisaitl (1G-2A, +2) provided the critical element in Kelowna's 3-2 road win over the Victoria Royals, scoring the decisive goal with 43 seconds left in the third period. The 19-year-old also made a great pass to set up Cole Linaker's tally that pulled the Rockets even after 20 minutes and had a helper on Josh Morrissey's tying goal with 7:24 left in the third.
