U.S. Open: Billy Horschel’s octopus pants could be the talk of Sunday’s final round

ARDMORE, Pa. — Billy Horschel puts his pants on eight legs at a time.

The 26-year-old from Florida tweeted the above photo on Sunday morning and it's safe to say Horschel's pants will be the talk of Twitter the first time NBC's U.S. Open broadcast shows them on the screen. They're made by Ralph Lauren and should get plenty of exposure as Horschel is tied for fifth and sits just two shots back of leader Phil Mickelson at Merion Golf Club. He's set to tee off at 2:47 p.m. ET and will be paired with Jason Day.

We actually spotted the shorts version of this nautical print at the U.S. Open merchandise tent earlier in the week and they didn't appear to be selling too well (not with a price tag of $98). But could they end up being the country's hottest clothing item come Monday morning? It all depends on how well Horschel performs in the final round — and how willing America's wives are to let their husbands look completely ridiculous when they head out to the course.
