Shuffle Up: King Henrik reigns between the pipes

If you've already drafted a 2013 Yahoo! Fantasy Hockey squad this month, or merely looked at the Yahoo! game rankings this week, you'll notice a few things out of place.

We know. Please excuse the mess right now. We're remodeling.

Our rankings are in the midst of a total overhaul (we hear you, Justin Schultz Sympathizers), to be reflected in the game ranks soon. Now that the lockout is out of the way, it's full speed ahead. In the meantime, we'll also introduce the fresh ice to you on the blog, in classic Shuffle Up form. Assignment one, the men in the crease.

All fantasy-relevant goaltenders are ranked below on their expected wins, saves, goals-against average, save percentage and shutouts. And as I considered those things, I also took into account each player's job security and durability.

Consider this list to be sketched in pencil; it might be tweaked during the day. Your respectful disagreement is always welcome; win the debate, win the rank. But don't be surprised when you invariably disagree with some opinions and rankings - that is, after all, why we play fantasy sports in the first place. This isn't Tic-Tac-Toe. There's nuance to the game, different paths to get to the same goal.

Welcome back, puckheads. It's going to be a blast of a year after all.

1. Henrik Lundqvist
2. Pekka Rinne
3. Jonathan Quick

These are the unquestioned and easy Top 3 in my mind, and you can really rank them any way you like and there's no major argument. Quick settles into the No. 3 slot for me because he's coming off back surgery, albeit the Kings, from everything I've heard thus far, don't seem too panicked about their franchise goalie.

4. Tuukka Rask
5. Mike Smith
6. Cory Schneider
7. Ryan Miller
8. Kari Lehtonen
9. Carey Price
10. Jimmy Howard

Rask will be needed almost nightly in Boston, with Tim Thomas fully expected to sit out the entire season. … How good is Howard going to be without Nicklas Lidstrom around to direct traffic and control the flow of the game? I still figure on Detroit being a solid club, especially on defense, but Howard (and others) are used to having a fortress of strength in front of them. That's not the case for 2013.

11. Antti Niemi
12. Jaroslav Halak
13. Ilya Bryzgalov
14. Cam Ward
15. Braden Holtby
16. Marc-Andre Fleury
17. Roberto Luongo

No one knows where Luongo will end up: that's been one of the on-hold stories during the lockout. Toronto has long been a rumor, but the Leafs just fired their franchise architect (Brian Burke), which might put a snag into the proceedings. Could Philadelphia be in play? Are the Canucks interested in patching up the relationship? Keep in mind Schneider signed a three-year, $12 million contract in June - it's his team in Vancouver now. If Luongo sticks around, he's almost certainly going to be the backup.

18. Martin Brodeur
19. Semyon Varlamov
20. Niklas Backstrom
21. Miikka Kiprusoff
22. Craig Anderson
23. Devan Dubnyk
24. Ondrej Pavelec
25. Jonas Hiller
26. Brian Elliott
27. Corey Crawford
28. Sergei Bobrovsky

Bobrovsky was outstanding in the KHL and although he hasn't been handed the starting gig in Columbus yet, it would be a surprise if he doesn't eventually get the post. Varlamov, another KHL star, appears to be on safer ground (and with a better team) in Colorado.

29. Anders Lindback
30. Evgeni Nabokov
31. Tomas Vokoun
32. Jose Theodore
33. Josh Harding
34. Jonathan Bernier
35. Steve Mason
36. James Reimer
37. Michal Neuvirth
38. Jean-Sebastien Giguere
39. Ray Emery
40. Thomas Greiss
41. Johan Hedberg
42. Scott Clemmensen
43. Chris Mason
