Mostly NFL Notes: Talking Aaron Rodgers and a look around the league in Week 10

Aaron Rodgers had six touchdowns with zero picks at halftime, finishing with 315 yards (11.7 YPA) and a 145.8 QB Rating. His monstrous performance would have been even bigger, but Rodgers didn’t play a snap after the 10:48 mark in the third quarter thanks to a 45-0 lead. It was a truly epic performance. Rodgers is now up to an NFL-high 8.7 YPA mark with a 25:3 TD:INT ratio. He’s a strong candidate as the league’s MVP...Jordy Nelson has 259 receiving yards with four scores over two games against the Bears this season. He also has a TD catch for at least 59 yards during every home game...Chicago has given up 106 points over its past two contests...Mike McCarthy challenged a three yard catch on first-and-10 while up 48-7.

Torrey Smith has as many touchdowns (five) over his past five games (despite averaging just 5.4 targets) as he did over his previous 22 games combined...Shonn Greene had three carries for five yards and lost a fumble at the goal line. There’s no reason not to make Bishop Sankey Tennessee’s lead back over the rest of the season...Justin Forsett continues to play well and should be treated as a top-15 fantasy back, even with an upcoming bye.

Here’s your annual Jimmy Kimmel prank in which he has parents tell their kids they ate all their candy.

Denard Robinson failed to top 100 total yards for the first time in four games and lost a fumble, but he also hit pay dirt twice, including a goal-line score as he continues to act as Jacksonville’s clear featured back...When not facing Arizona, DeMarco Murray has averaged 158.2 yards from scrimmage (the Cardinals held him to “just” 90), a pace that would set an NFL record. Still, the scrub hasn’t scored in any of the past three games...Dez Bryant was ridiculous, first breaking multiple tackles during this TD catch and later hauling in this 68-yard score.

Ryan Tannehill’s dominant stretch came to an end, but he was on the road against a Detroit defense that’s allowed the fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks...The Lions have an NFL-high 11 unsuccessful field goal attempts, with the latest one being especially costly...Detroit’s special teams wasn’t all bad, as they converted a fake punt early in the first quarter...Lamar Miller was clearly hindered by his shoulder injury, and he now faces a tough Buffalo run defense on a short week Thursday without Branden Albert, whom Pro Football Focus graded as the No. 4 tackle before suffering a season-ending injury Sunday...It was nice to see Golden Tate get 13 targets with Calvin Johnson looking back to health...This interception by Brent Grimes was legit...Detroit has won three straight games with the go ahead score coming in the final two minutes, including this one.

What a disappointing effort by Bobby Rainey, who managed 14 rushing yards on six carries against an Atlanta front seven that entered having allowed the most fantasy points to opposing backs. He added 42 receiving yards, but this Tampa Bay backfield is a situation to avoid...Devin Hester had a brutal drop while wide open in the end zone, costing Matt Ryan owners a TD pass...Julio Jones hasn’t scored since Sep. 18. He’s averaged 10.2 targets per game over that span...Mike Evans has five touchdowns over the past five games and over the past two, he’s seen 20 targets and averaged 124.5 yards. It’s going to be hard not to rank him ahead of Vincent Jackson on a weekly basis moving forward.

Here’s someone mildly overreacting to losing out on a parking spot at a mall.

After getting zero yards during his first five carries, Jamaal Charles gained 98 on his next 10, including this impressive 39-yard TD run on fourth down... Bryce Brown got 5.0 YPC and led the Bills in receiving yards, as he appears to have the most upside in what remains a full-blown RBBC in Buffalo, although this lost fumble right before reaching the end zone was costlySammy Watkins saw 10 targets, but he was playing at less than 100 percent. Let’s hope his groin injury doesn’t linger.

Ben Roethlisberger was coming off a stretch in which he became the first player in NFL history to throw for six touchdowns in back-to-back games and was facing a Jets defense that entered having yielded an NFL-worst 24:1 TD:INT ratio (no other team had allowed more than 18 TD passes), so naturally, he didn’t throw for a score until there was 1:16 left in the fourth quarter...Jason Babin’s hit on Roethlisberger during a dead ball play was one of the dirtiest you’ll ever see...Martavis Bryant has six TDs over the past four games, and he’s done so while averaging just 6.0 targets.

Oakland led Denver 10-6 with 2:45 left in the second quarter but ultimately lost 41-17 with Peyton Manning tossing another five TDs before sitting out the fourth quarter...It’s crazy how much of an after thought Wes Welker has become...Meanwhile, after failing to score in any of the first five games, Emmanuel Sanders has six touchdowns over the past four, matching his previous career-high for a season...There were 96 passes attempted during this game and zero sacks were recorded...During the opening drive of the second half, Derek Carr threw a pass to Khalif Barnes (this is not legal, as Barnes is a right tackle), who then proceeded to try to gain yards and predictably lost a fumble. It was the most Raiders play of the season...The Broncos running back situation is officially a mess for fantasy owners, with C.J. Anderson suddenly throwing his name in the mix.

Wilson did get 10.1 YPA and ran for 107 yards and a score, as the Seahawks totaled a whopping 350 rushing yards (7.8 YPC) and five touchdowns...Marshawn Lynch recorded four of those scores on the ground, giving him six over the past two games. He also ran for 140 yards, marking the first time he reached 90 rushing yards since Week 1...After scoring three touchdowns over his first three games, Odell Beckham Jr. has totaled 264 receiving yards over his last two and should be considered a top-20 fantasy wideout moving forward. This year’s rookie WR group is highly impressive.

He’s fully healthy and doesn’t have a single touch over the past two games...Michael Floyd has five catches for 47 yards and no scores over the past three games. What a bust.
