Daily Dime: Springer, Upton and Odor, plus a collection of Cubs

You are advised to check the game-time MLB forecasts before finalizing lineups. Fantasy experts are highly skilled individuals, but we can't actually control the weather. (Maybe Evans can, but not the rest of us.)

P Jon Lester, CHC, $51 (at Phi) – This game gives up the day's most lopsided pitching match-up (Lester is facing Adam Morgan) and lineup match-up. It's the cleanest path to a win, by far. Lester's last start, you might recall, was a dominant complete-game performance in which he struck out 10 Dodgers, walking none and allowing just four hits.

P Masahiro Tanaka, NYY, $45 (vs. LAA) – Tanaka is facing a recently dominant Matt Shoemaker, a small worry. But the Angels lineup is just so loaded with outs. So, so tempting to pick on that team.

C Yasmani Grandal, LAD, $7 (Chatwood) – One of the better hitters you'll find at a minimum price. Grandal is coming off a good day (2-for-4, HR) and drawing plenty of walks.

1B Anthony Rizzo, CHC, $13 (Morgan) – Weird price. Rizzo has 13 homers, 40 RBIs and a .387 OBP on the year, and he's facing a guy with a 1.51 WHIP. Rizzo isn't an automatic out against LHPs — particularly bad LHPs.

2B Rougned Odor, Tex, $9 (Fiers) – Another price that feels like a gift. Odor has returned from suspension, reaching base four times over the past two games. He gets a handedness bump here, too.

3B Kris Bryant, CHC, $21 (Morgan) – Morgan has allowed six or more earned runs in three of his last four appearances, including a loss at Wrigley in which Bryant took him deep.

SS Alexei Ramirez, SD, $8 (Perez) – Alexei has put together an 8-game hitting streak, with three homers included. He's coming off a 2-for-4 performance and facing an unimpressive starter with a 1.45 career WHIP.

OF George Springer, Hou, $24 (Lewis) – Perhaps you've noticed that Springer is crushing, delivering eight multi-hit efforts and nine XBHs over his last 13 games.

OF Justin Upton, Det, $10 (Happ) – Upton has been less terrible in recent days, and he's coming off a 2-for-4 performance against the White Sox. He's made the most of his few opportunities to hit against Happ, too, going 3-for-5 with a triple, homer and a walk.

OF Brett Gardner, NYY, $11 (Shoemaker) – Gardner has gone 7-for-12 over his last three games with two doubles, a walk, one steal and two runs-scored.
