Watch Drizzy announce the Raptors starting lineup on Drake Night

It's only fitting that Drizzy would up the mic on "Drake Night" at the Air Canada Centre.

But instead of a performance featuring his chart-topping single "Hotline Bling," the Toronto rapper and team ambassador delighted last night's crowd with the announcement of the Raptors' starting lineup.

Featuring a slew of one-liners for each player, Drake got a few laughs as he threw some light shade at the starting five. He kicked things off with a bang, throwing in a clever jab at the visiting LeBron James while announcing Raptors C Bismack Biyombo.

"From the Demoocratic Republic of Congo, a 6'9" centre who accused LeBron of wearing a fake mustache, number 8, Bismack Biyombo!"

Not bad, not bad. But in my opinion, Drake seemed to run out of witty zingers pretty quickly. I'll let you be the judge.

Now, I don't mean to throw shade at the "6 God" on his big night, and with a free Drake-themed t-shirt awaiting everyone in attandance, I doubt many fans were complaining. But from what we saw from Drake on this big night back in 2014, last night's performance left something to be desired.

Maybe it was the lack of Jonas "Big Science" Valanciunas in last night's starting lineup that threw Drake off his game. Or perhaps Kyle Lowry's introduction couldn't have gotten any better than last year's, when Drake cemented the "Baby-faced Assassin" moniker as Lowry's go-to handle.

Whatever the reason may be, Drake's hotline appeared to be missing some bling, but with a 103-99 over the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers, Raptors fans had much to be excited about.

Here's a quick look back at Drake's starting lineup announcement from 2014.
