The day after a touching and memorable tribute prior to the Canadiens game against the Canucks, Habs legend Jean Beliveau will be laid to rest in Montreal. Thousands are expected to attend the public service at a downtown Montreal church on Wednesday afternoon.

Beliveau, who played 21 seasons with the Canadiens and won 10 Stanley Cups as a player, died on Dec. 2 at 83. Since then tributes have rolled in for the Hall of Famer who was one of hockey's most recognizable ambassadors.

Beliveau's body laid in state at the Bell Centre on Sunday and Monday as thousands of fans paid their respects. Beliveau's wife of more than 60 years, Elise, was there to shake the hands of each one.

The pallbearers for the funeral will be former Canadiens players Guy Lafleur, Serge Savard, Yvan Cournoyer, Jean-Guy Talbot, Phil Goyette and Bobby Rousseau. Also in attendance will be Prime Minister Stephen Harper, and NHL commissioner Gary Bettman.
