The NBA All-Star game is in Toronto this weekend, but that's not stopping the local sports fans from eyeing the start of baseball season in less than two months time.

The Blue Jays released single game tickets for their 2016 home opener Friday, Apr. 8 against the Boston Red Sox and they were snapped up in a matter of minutes.

It's been an eventful offseason for the Blue Jays since they were bounced from the postseason in the ALCS. A sweeping change in management has new president Mark Shapiro and general manager Ross Atkins running the franchise while Paul Beeston and Alex Anthopoulos left the organization.

Fans were not pleased the architects of the team that made Toronto's first playoff appearance in 22 years were not returning, but with the core players still in place anticipation for this coming season is sky-high.

The most notable absentee from the Blue Jays' roster that finished last season is David Price, who signed a seven-year, $217 million deal with the Red Sox as a free agent. Assuming he starts Boston's season opener, Price is in line to face Toronto at the Rogers Centre on Sunday, Apr. 10. Expect that game to be a sellout, too.
