The Blue Jays' offence put up 14 runs on Monday night and they also added a couple defensive plays to the highlight reel.

As Toronto pounded Seattle, they scored nine runs in 2 2/3 innings chasing against Canadian starter James Paxton, Jose Bautista and Dalton Pompey compounded the Mariners' misery with a pair of incredible grabs in the outfield.

In the second inning Austin Jackson sent a line drive to right field, forcing Bautista to make a fine diving catch running to his right.

Three innings later with the Blue Jays now up 10-1, Pompey reeled in a fly ball off the bat of Dustin Ackley at the warning track in deep centre, showing off his impressive range.

Bautista also hit his 35th home run of the season in the rout. It was his 203rd with the Blue Jays, moving him into a tie with Joe Carter for third in franchise history.
