WIMBLEDON – Vasek Pospisil had a London weekend to enjoy his first trip to the second week of a Grand Slam in singles.

Monday night, the 25-year-old Canadian can savour the feeling of reaching his first Grand Slam quarter-final after an impressive comeback from two sets to none down against experienced Serbian Viktor Troicki.

Here's what the final moments looked like.

The 4-6, 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-3, 6-3 victory, which took just a shade over 2 1/2 hours, seemed unlikely after he lost the first two sets. But Pospisil raised his play and Troicki, who also was seeking to reach his first major quarter-final at age 29 (even though he has been ranked as high as No. 12 in the world), saw his level drop just enough to make a difference.

"He was switching his return position. He stepped back a lot, and that made me maybe go for the serve and risk it more. And he got to return better off the back of the court. And he took his chances," Troicki said.

"He was serving unbelievable. I didn’t have many chances on his serve. He didn’t have unbelievable numbers of aces, but he had great percentages of (first) serves, and great angles," Troicki added. "He served throughout the whole match unbelievaable, and in the end played more aggressively than me and took his chances."

Pospisil still had doubles to play Monday afternoon, a third-round match with partner Jack Sock against Jamie Murray and John Peers – back on Court 12, which was good to him against Fabio Fognini in the second round of the singles and again today against Troicki. His press conference will be held after the doubles.
