Former NFLer Chad Johnson will work out for the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes

The first question that comes to mind, if this ever comes to fruition, is that they'll call longtime NFL receiver Chad (Ochocinco - but no longer legally) Johnson if he comes to play in Montreal.

"Tchadde Quatre-vingt-cinq"? Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.

"Tchadde Huit-Cinq"? A little better.

The Alouettes confirmed that Johnson would be there when the Alouettes hold a three-day mini-camp at Dodgertown in Vero Beach, Fla. beginning Tuesday. The team held the first of four open U.S. tryout camps there over the weekend.

CBS Sports's Jason La Canfora says Ochocinco will work out Monday at 5 p.m. On his Twitter feed, Johnson himself said he'd be there Tuesday for mini-camp and on-field work.

Johnson, who has - get this - 3.6 MILLION Twitter followers even though he's been out of the NFL since 2011, seems to be in the business of handing out relationship advice via cyberspace these days. He is absolutely a great follow, well-spoken with a sense of humour; his handling of the inevitable trolls is restaurant-quality.

He seems to be having fun with this whole thing.

Current Alouettes linebacker Kyries Herbert was Johnson's teammate in 2008-09 with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Another Al, Ottawa native Geoff Coventry, is a little pumped at the possibility. He wore Ochocinco's 85 through high school and college, he says.

The six-time Pro Bowl receiver, now 36, worked last season for CBS sports.

Another big question: who wore No. 85 last season for the Alouettes?

The immortal Ismael Bamba, a non-import receiver from Sherbrooke, Que.

Bamba has one career catch in the CFL, a 17-yarder for Saskatchewan in 2012.

You'd have to think, should it come to that, that it won't take a Rolex to pry the digits away from him.
