Eugenie Bouchard does a little doubles

WIMBLEDON – The Wimbledon Twitter feed dubbed Genie Bouchard and Brit Heather Watson the "Dream Team," which might have been overstating it juuuuuuuuuust a tad on the home side.

But at least they were competitive against last year's Wimbledon finalists Casey Dellacqua and Ashleigh Barty in a 6-4, 7-6 first-round loss.

Here's what it looked like.

There were some painful volleys, and some decent ones. There were some double-handed backhand volley-type thingies where Bouchard choked up on the racquet right to the throat. There were a couple of excruciatingly botched overheads by Bouchard that had her hiding her face in mock abject shame.

And there were moments where Bouchard fought for her life as the Aussies went right after her at the net.

But at least she tried them, tried to poach, tried to go after some balls at the net.

There was no serve-and-volley thing happening, though; that probably would have been asking too much.
