Canadian university basketball player makes 60-foot buzzer shot to tie game (VIDEO)

Word of caution: turn down your speakers, then hit the play button.

Who knew that Heave Away wasn't just a popular pub sing-along in St. John's, N.L., but also a basketball strategy? Down by three points with no timeouts left in the dying seconds, Megan Robinson and the Memorial Sea-Hawks had no choice but to chuck up a shot from beyond halfcourt against the Dalhousie Tigers in on Saturday. From approximately 60 feet away, the fourth-year guard's desperation shot rattled in, sending the Atlantic University Sport basketball match to overtime.

The play might not #BreakTheInternet. However, commentators Theo Staneov and Jeremy Reynolds' ecstatic, put-it-up-to-11 reaction — "Oh the humanity!" — might have broken laptop speakers for some of the AUStv.ca webcast audience.

Dalhousie, to its credit, regrouped to win 80-74 in overtime, thanks to 22 points from guard Courtney Thompson. It's only two weeks into conference play in Canadian Interuniversity Sport basketball, but Robinson, who hooped a team-high 21 points in the game, might have locked up CIS last-second shot of the year.

As lone CIS member in Newfoundland and Labrador, Memorial plays two-game series every weekend. They won the second game on Sunday by a comfortable 11-point margin. Robinson, a Waterloo, Ont., native who's an effective two-guard despite being relatively short for a CIS women's player at 5-foot-5, chipped in 16 points. The win evened Memorial's conference record at 2-2; the Sea-Hawks' first win also came on a buzzer-beater by forward Sandra Amoah. You cannot make that up.
