Canada’s Tyler Ennis’ buzzer-beater keeps Syracuse Orange unbeaten (VIDEO)

The expression on Tyler Ennis' face, pleased but hardly surprised at what he just did there, says so much about the Syracuse Orange's frosh prince.

The Brampton, Ont., point guard's forte is his fortitude and propensity to make the best decisions for the 'Cuse in the closing minutes of ballgames. The 19-year-old has already essayed some big moments while leading the 'Cuse to a No. 1 ranking in the NCAA, but topped it with a long buzzer-beating three-pointer to down the Pittsburgh Panthers 58-56 on Wednesday.

With Syracuse's perfect record hanging in the balance on the road against the No. 25-ranked Pitt, Ennis beat the full court pressure and hit from very deep. That shot might get replayed a lot from now until the NCAA tournament, especially since it pushed Syracuse to 24-0, setting a school record for longest win streak in the process.

Suffice to say, Pitt using a timeout after it went ahead with 4.4 seconds left didn't work out very well.

That was Ennis' first trey in four games; he's a very discerning shooter from deep, where he's made a respectable 37.5 per cent on the year. Many of those attempts have come in late shot-clock situations. Syracuse isn't even a big outside shooting team, but it was at a desperate hour.

Ennis had 13 points and five assists against two turnovers, scoring Syracuse's last five points in a game where it trailed much of the way. He's committed two or fewer turnovers in all but one game all season, which has gone a long way toward Syracuse's (just barely) perfect record.
