The Edmonton Eskimos got off to a rocky start in Winnipeg against the Blue Bombers Thursday night, trailing 10-0 early in the second quarter, but they pulled back within three points at the half. Part of that was thanks to an incredible 60-yard catch in double coverage from veteran slotback Adarius Bowman, one of the best catches of the season so far. Here's that play:

What's remarkable here is the altitude Bowman's able to gain and how he's able to use his body to shield the ball from both defenders, going up to grab the long pass from quarterback Mike Reilly while draped all over one defender and having another hit him from behind. It's a terrific catch, and yet more proof of how good Bowman is: he had three touchdowns and 140 yards last week against Saskatchewan, and he's recorded 1,456 and 1,304 receiving yards the last two seasons.

The 31-year-old Bowman has had some ups and downs in the CFL, and really began to establish himself when he came to Edmonton in 2011 following two seasons with Winnipeg and one with Saskatchewan, posting 1,153 receiving yards that season. He was plagued by injuries in 2012 and 2013, though, playing in just two and nine games respectively, but he's been healthy and dominant the past few years. That's not a surprise to some who remember him from his college days at Oklahoma State, a school that's produced a lot of great receivers, including Dez Bryant and Justin Blackmon. Here's what Fox NFL insider Peter Schrager said last week about Bowman in college:

Schrager added praise for Bowman's catch Thursday, too:

"Consistently impressive" is a good description of Bowman's play over the past few years; he does still make some bad drops (which may be about the eye problems he has), but he regularly makes outstanding catches and puts up great yardage totals. This is just another one for his highlight reel.
