Moving on with our Three Stars Series, here's a look at the top performances from Week Seven, with two selections from Thursday's close B.C.-Edmonton clash and one from Hamilton's blowout of Winnipeg Sunday

First star/defensive player of the week: Emanuel Davis, defensive back, Hamilton Tiger-Cats: Davis came up with not one, but two, interception returns for touchdowns Sunday, playing a crucial role in the Ticats' 38-8 demolition of the Bombers. The East Carolina product is in his third CFL season, and has made our Three Stars before, but he's taking things to a new level this year. He has three interceptions already on the season, despite never recording a regular-season one before this year. Davis was vital for Hamilton Sunday, and he may be a big part of their defence going forward too.

(Honourable mentions: Keith Shologan, DT, Ottawa; Justin Hickman, DE, Hamilton; Ted Laurent, DT, Hamilton.)

Second star/offensive player of the week: Andrew Harris, running back, B.C. Lions: Harris was the largest part of B.C.'s incredible 26-23 comeback win over Edmonton Thursday, picking up 118 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground and 57 yards through the air, plus another touchdown. The Vancouver Island Raiders' product has been vital for the Lions this year, and perhaps their most important offensive piece. If they're going to keep up their success, he'll have to play a large role.

(Honourable mentions: Trevor Harris, QB, Toronto; Henry Burris, QB, Ottawa; Greg Ellingson, WR, Ottawa.)

Third star/special teams player of the week: Dexter McCoil, linebacker/cover teams, Edmonton Eskimos: McCoil turned in a week-high three special teams tackles Thursday against B.C., and he was a big part of containing B.C.'s returners. Shaquille Murray-Lawrence only had 80 yards on four kick returns (20 yards per attempt), while Pascal Loschard didn't get anywhere on his kick return. The punt returns were a little better, with Keola Antolin collecting 58 yards on six attempts (9.7 yards per attempt), but McCoil helped keep them from breaking any massive returns (Antolin's longest was 13 yards). McCoil's having a good season on defence so far, with two sacks, a fumble recovery and 18 defensive tackles to date, but he showed Thursday he can also be an important presence for them on special teams.

(Honourable mentions: Grant Shaw, P/K, Edmonton; Stefan Logan, PR/KR, Montreal; Justin Medlock, K, Hamilton.)

Bonus star/Canadian player of the week: Andrew Harris, running back, B.C. Lions: Harris' impressive totals from Thursday are discussed above, but he was also highly efficient. He averaged 5.9 yards per rush and 14.3 yards per catch. The Lions' offence hasn't been clicking on all cylinders consistently this year, but it's been good when it's featured Harris heavily, and it's promising to see him producing at an impressive rate as well as just picking up good totals. He'll be a big part of their plans this season.

(Honourable mentions: Chris Getzlaf, SB, Saskatchewan; Ted Laurent, DT, Hamilton; James Yurichuk, LB, Toronto.)
