Welcome to the new 55-Yard Line CFL super power rankings. Every Thursday we'll look back at the previous week and look ahead to the upcoming week, and rank the best teams, quarterbacks or anything else we see fit to rank.

After Week 6, the haves are separating themselves from the have-nots and we need some West-on-West games to sort things out.

Team rankings:

1.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers (5-1; Previous: 2) - The Cardiac Kids of the early 2014 season. They're back on top after an impressive, last second, come from behind win over the Ticats on the road.

2.

Calgary Stampeders (4-1; Previous: 1) - Defence let them down a bit and turnovers hurt in their first loss of the season. On the bright side, Martell Mallett had 175 total yards in his first CFL action since 2009.

3.

Edmonton Eskimos (4-1; Previous: 3) - Generous, perhaps, to leave them here after they didn't play and teams below them both won. But they look like they're for real and have a good matchup in Week 7.

4.

Saskatchewan Roughriders (3-2; Previous: 4) - Firmly back on track after back-to-back wins. Running back Will Ford has been great since being picked off the scrap heap.

5.

B.C. Lions (3-3; Previous: 5) - Impressive win over the previously-unbeaten Stampeders. But their Jekyll and Hyde act every week makes it tough to get a good read on them. So they stay put at No. 5.

6.

Toronto Argonauts (2-4; Previous: 8) - Let's not get too excited about a win over the lowly Alouettes. But it was an impressive game for the defence and offence.

7.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats (1-4; Previous: 6) - Probably deserved better in their hard-luck loss to the Blue Bombers. They've played well in two games at Ron Joyce Stadium, which is good because they're getting an extra game there.

8.

Ottawa Redblacks (1-4; Previous: 7) - They had an ugly loss to the Riders and now have to face the Stampeders on the road this week. At least they made some history with a recovered punt for a touchdown.

9.

Montreal Alouettes (1-4; Previous: 9) - Is this rock bottom? Another ugly loss, more bad quarterback play, and they haven't scored a touchdown in two games.

Quarterback rankings:

1. Drew Willy, Blue Bombers (Previous: 2) - Back on top after his second last-minute, game-winning touchdown drive of the season.

2. Bo Levi Mitchell, Stampeders (Previous: 1) - The shine is wearing off just a little bit after his first loss, and back-to-back so-so games.

3. Ricky Ray, Argonauts (Previous: 4) - Two touchdowns, no interceptions, and a new favourite target in Steve Slaton.

4. Mike Reilly, Eskimos (Previous: 3) - His only fault was that he was idle last week while Ricky Ray did enough to leapfrog him.

5. Darian Durant, Roughriders (Previous: 6) - Accurate and efficient in win over the Redblacks. Back to being one of the best.

6. Dan LeFevour, Tiger-Cats (Previous: 5) - Played well again but if these QB rankings reflect who you want under centre in a must-win game, I'm taking the veteran Durant. So they flip spots.

7. Kevin Glenn, Lions (Previous: 8) - A nice game in a big win over the Stamps, throwing for 277 yards and two fourth-quarter touchdowns. But he also threw another pick-six and has nine interceptions on the season.

8. Henry Burris, Redblacks (Previous: 7) - He's not really been bad in any games, just going through the usual expansion team growing pains.

9.

Alouettes duo (Previous: 9) - Troy Smith got the hook. Alex Brink threw a pick-six. Jeff Garcia parachuted in to try to fix things.

Coming up in Week 7:

Saskatchewan at Winnipeg, Thursday, 8:30 ET - Round 1 in the Riders-Bombers rivalry should be a good one. Winnipeg is coming off a come-from-behind win and the Roughriders have won two in a row. Drew Willy, now starting and starring as QB for the Bombers, faces his former team and mentor in Darian Durant. Pick: Blue Bombers.

Edmonton at Montreal, Friday, 7 ET - Edmonton is coming off a loss and a bye week so they'll be happy to face the lowly Alouettes. But the Alouettes have beaten the Eskimos eight times in a row, and six in a row in Montreal. Says here those streaks end. Pick: Eskimos.

Hamilton at B.C., Friday, 10 ET - The Ticats are on the road for the fourth time in six games and faces the Lions coming off a big win and brimming with confidence. Lions QB Travis Lulay is healthy but Kevin Glenn will start again. Pick: Lions.

Ottawa at Calgary, Saturday, 7:30 ET - Bo Levi Mitchell is coming off his first loss as a starter but gets to face one of the CFL's worst defences this week. Ottawa is 0-3 on the road and not likely to end that slide in Calgary. Pick: Stampeders.

Picks -- Last week: 3-1; Season: 10-10.

Bye: Toronto -- Consider this bye week less of a week off and more like a long weekend. They're off this weekend but play twice in Week 8  -- on Tuesday against the Bombers then five days later against the Lions. Only in the CFL.
