Argos-Ticats rivalry expands to social media

It's well-known that the Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton Tiger-Cats have the oldest rivalry in the CFL, and that it's one of the fiercest. The two sides have faced off in 215 regular-season games since the establishment of the Tiger-Cats in 1950, and the Argonauts played both of that team's predecessors (the Hamilton Tigers and the Hamilton Wildcats) before that. The teams traditionally feud on Labour Day (although that won't be happening this year), but they've been known to take potshots at each other even when preparing for a game against someone else. Now, the CFL's oldest rivalry is going full new media, as the Tiger-Cats posted the above Instagram photo with quarterback Henry Burris (left) and receiver Bakari Grant studying a map on how to get to Guelph's Alumni Stadium, and the Argos' official Twitter account chimed in with a pretty good response:

It's not the first time we've seen inter-team social media trolling, of course, but this is more common in say, the NHL. It's nice to see some CFL teams getting into the act. (Hamilton's taken plenty of shots at other franchises in the past, too, most memorably with current CTV social whiz Kate McKenna's fake Fantuz Flakes commercial, a joke that eventually came full circle after Fantuz signed with the Tiger-Cats.) There's no need for continuous bashing of other franchises, of course, as that would quickly get tiresome, but a little good-humoured snark here and there from team accounts is much appreciated. Well played, Argos, well played.
