42-year-old Vince Carter: 'I do want to play another year'
21 professional seasons isn’t enough for 42-year-old Vince Carter, who stated his desire to return for an NBA record 22nd season.
Speaking during the Atlanta Hawks Wednesday broadcast against the Philadelphia 76ers Carter said, “It’s something I want to do. I feel that I could still give it another year. Hopefully, there’s a team out there that wants my services. So, I’m going to prepare as if I’m coming back and we’ll go from there. But I do want to play another year.”
Does he want to play another season?

At the beginning of the 2018-19 season, Carter told ESPN that he was “90-something percent” certain he would retire at the end of the season. Of course, plans changed between then and now.
As a member of the Hawks, Carter has appeared in 73 games this season, nine as a starter. Carter has contributed 7.5 points per game, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists on an average of 17.3 minutes played.
Should Carter return for a 22nd season, he would break the tie and pass Kevin Garnett, Robert Parish, Kevin Willis and Dirk Nowitzki for most seasons played in NBA history.
