Which athletes cried at the Olympics?
Whether it is from the pride of victory or the grief of disappointment, many athletes lost their cool and shed a tear or two at the London Olympics. According to a review of gold medal ceremonies from the Wall Street Journal, 16% of all gold medalists cried on the podium. Only 7% of Chinese winners cried, while 17% of U.S. athletes succumbed to tears. Great Britain was the nation that cried the most, with 37.5% of their athletes choking up, perhaps moved by the cheers of their home crowd. And when it came to guys vs. girls, 8.3% of males cried compared to 24.6% of females. -- By Carla Thorpe, Yahoo! Sports
