QMJHL Roundup: Saint John Sea Dogs beat Charlottetown Islanders 3-2 in shootout

SAINT JOHN, N.B. - Spencer Smallman and Nathan Noel each scored in the shootout as the Saint John Sea Dogs beat the Charlottetown Islanders 3-2 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play Wednesday.

Jurij Repe and Oliver Cooper gave Saint John (6-18-3) a 2-0 lead in the first period.

Daniel Sprong, who also scored in the shootout, and Spenser Cobbold replied for the Islanders (13-11-3) to tie the game and send it to extra time.

Sea Dogs goaltender Sebastien Auger made 24 saves, while at the other end Antoine Bibeau stopped 32 shots for Charlottetown.

QUEBEC CITY — Sebastien Sylvestre and Janne Puhakka each scored twice for Chicoutimi against the Remparts.

William Gignac also scored for the Sagueneens (14-15-0), who scored three unanswered goals to take a 4-1 lead.

Fabrice Herzog and Adam Erne each had a goal for Quebec (14-9-6).

Domenic Graham finished with 28 saves in net for Chicoutimi. Callum Booth was pulled from the Remparts' net after allowing four goals on 15 shots. Francois Brassard made six saves in relief.
