QMJHL Roundup: Fucale makes 25 saves as Mooseheads blank Wildcats

HALIFAX - Zachary Fucale stopped 25 shots for his fifth-career shutout as the Halifax Mooseheads blanked the visiting Moncton Wildcats 4-0 on Friday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play.

Jonathan Drouin had a goal and an assist for the Moooseheads (15-8-0) and now has eight goals and 25 points in 13 contests since being returned to junior by the Tampa Bay Lighting.

Andrew Shewfelt, Connor Moynihan and Brent Andrews also scored for Halifax, which has won three games in a row.

Mark Simpson and Cameron Yarwood were each a team-worst minus-three for the Wildcats (10-13-1) as goaltender Alex Dubeau turned back 22 shots in a losing cause.

Halifax went 0 for 4 on the power play while Moncton failed to score on eight chances with the man advantage.

BATHURST, N.B. — Jacob Brennan stopped 27 shots as Acadie-Bathurst downed Gatineau.

Christophe Boivin, Alexandre Gosselin and Lucas Grundy scored for the Titan (8-12-2) and Patrick Walsh chipped in with two assists.

Taylor Burke scored the lone goal for the Olympiques (14-8-0).

Gatineau's Robert Steeves turned aside 26-of-29 shots in a losng cause.

PHOENIX 4 SCREAMING EAGLES 3 (SO)

SHERBROOKE, Que. — Tim Wieser and Jean-Francois Plante each scored once in regulation and the shootout as the Phoenix held on to beat Cape Breton.

Carl Neill also scored for the Phoenix (9-11-2), who blew a 3-0 lead.

Charles-Eric Legare, Justin Hache and Jeremy Beaudry responded for the Screaming Eagles (9-9-3), who lost for the first time in three outings.

Sherbrooke's Francis Desrosiers made 25 saves for the win while Alex Bureau stopped 17 shots for Cape Breton.

BOISBRIAND, Que. — Olivier Picard scored twice and set up one more as Blainville-Boisbriand toppled Chicoutimi.

Marc-Olivier Roy had a goal and an assist for the Armada (16-2-2) while Brendan Hamelin and Antoine-Dufort Plante recorded a goal apiece.

Charles Hudon and Sebastien Sylvestre supplied the offence for the Sagueneens (11-12-0).

Blainville-Boisbriand's Etienne Marcoux made 18 saves for the win. Chicoutimi's Julio Billia allowed five goals on 23 shots against.

RIMOUSKI, Que. — Philippe Desrosiers stopped 28 shots as the Oceanic handed Baie-Comeau its first regulation-time defeat in 11 outings.

Anthony DeLuca, Peter Trainor, Samuel Morin and Michael Joly scored for Rimouski (12-6-4) while Jan Kostalek tacked on two assists.

Dominic Poulin recorded a goal for the Drakkar (14-5-3), who came into the game 9-0-1 in their last 10 contests.

Philippe Cadorerette turned away 22-of-26 shots in defeat.
