QMJHL Roundup: Duclair with four goals as Remparts double up Islanders

QUEBEC CITY, Que. - Anthony Duclair scored four times in the third period as the Quebec City Remparts doubled up the visiting Charlottetown Islanders 6-3 on Saturday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Kurt Etchegary and Nick Sorensen also scored for the Remparts (7-5-4), who have picked up at least one point in eight straight contests, while Ryan Culkin tacked on three assists.

Matej Beran scored twice for the Islanders (10-4-1) and Alexis Pepin had the other.

Quebec City's Francois Brassard made 25 saves for the victory as Charlottetown's Antoine Bibeau turned away 30-of-34 shots in defeat.

The Remparts went 2 for 5 on the power play while the Islanders failed to score on their only chance with the man advantage.

DRAKKAR 5 SCREAMING EAGLES 4

BAIE-COMEAU, Que. — Alexis Vanier scored the winner at 19:55 of the third period and Valentin Zykov had two goals as the Drakkar slipped past Cape Breton for their seventh straight victory.

Frederic Gamelin scored once and set up two more for Baie-Comeau (12-4-2) while Gabryel Paquin-Boudreau had the other.

Loic Leduc, Kyle Farrell, Raphael Corriveau and Charles-Eric Legare scored for the Screaming Eagles (7-8-2).

Philippe Cadorette made 37 saves for the Drakkar as Cape Breton's Alex Bureau stopped 28-of-33 shots in defeat.

SAGUENEENS 3 SEA DOGS 2 (SO)

CHICOUTIMI, Que. — Julio Billia stopped 38 shots as the Sagueens handed Saint John its eighth loss in a row.

Janne Puhakka and Sebastien Sylvestre both scored in regulation and the shootout for Chicoutimi (10-8-0).

Olivier LeBlanc scored once for the Sea Dogs (5-10-2) and assisted on Oliver Cooper's goal that forced overtime.

Saint John's Sebastien Auger turned away 42-of-44 shots in a losing cause.

CATARACTES 2 WILDCATS 1 (SO)

SHAWINIGAN, Que. — Storm Phaneuf made 31 saves as the Cataractes edged Moncton for just their second win of the season.

Ilya Zinoviev scored the shootout winner for Shawinigan (2-12-2) as Frederick Gaudreau opened the game's scoring in the second period.

Cameron Yarwood scored 48 seconds into the third period for the Wildcats (7-10-1).

Moncton's Alex Dubeau stopped 29 shots in defeat.

MOOSEHEADS 4 TITAN 3

HALIFAX — Darcy Ashley put the Mooseheads in front for good with a power-play goal at 16:57 of the third period.

Andrew Shewfelt, Brent Andrews and Jacob Jaques also scored for Halifax (12-7-0) while Nikolaj Ehlers chipped in with two assists.

Acadie-Bathurst (6-9-2) got goals from Alexandros Soumakis, Adam Chapman and Robert Pelletier.

Zachary Fucale only had to make 12 saves for the Mooseheads. Titan netminder Jacob Brennan took the loss after giving up four goals on 28 shots.

OLYMPIQUES 5 OCEANIC 4 (SO)

RIMOUSKI, Que. — Jake Coughler scored the winner in the ninth round of the shootout as Gatineau beat the Oceanic for its sixth win in a row.

Marc-Olivier Brouillard recorded two goals for the Olympiques (12-5-0) while Vincent Dunn and Martin Reway scored the others.

Frederik Gauthier scored twice for Rimouski (8-5-3) and Jimmy Oligny had a goal and two assists. Scott Oke scored once to round out the Oceanic offence.

Gatineau's Robert Steeves made 23 saves for the win as Philippe Desrosiers turned aside 24 shots for Rimouski.
